Question : Problem: How to correctly identify hardware in PC for ordering upgrade

Hi

I need to order an upgrade for my PC's one is branded and other is not was is the best way to identify the type of RAM to order. Both are XP machines. Is there a standard tool to get info. I want to get 1GB of ram for both machines. Is it better to get two 512 or 1GB stick. Also is there a limit on the RAM upgrade depending on the type

That depends on your motherboard usually - you need to se what motherboard you have SIW will tell you, get the documentation up online and that will tell you the maximum amount of mem it will support.
