Doesn't sound good.
Can you tell if it is the paper-feed (usually the noise starts right away) or the 'print head' (usually the sounds starts after the paper is pulled down).
You might need to take the case apart to see what is doing it, which with a printer can be messy (toner stains really good) and might need special tools to even do.
