Question : Problem: SATA Harddisk is not detected

Im using a compaq presario 6000 IL with ASUS motherboard and AMD2600+ processor . I have 2 SATA ports on my motherboard and when i connect a sata hardidsk  i never find any option in the BIOS whether it had been detected or not .

                                    And in also BIOS there is no option for SATA or something like that . Please suggest how to connect a SATA harddisk to my system

Several of the Asus A7xxx series motherboards had issues with bad capacitors.

Yes, you should see SATA options in the BIOS somewhere.
