Question : Problem: Networking Ethernet handoff config
Hi,
We have a fibre provider that is installing a new network at our two locations. The provider is going to handoff to us in the way of port on the switch they install.
Between site A and B will be a Private IP network and then the Internet port will be delivered via another port on the switch at site B.
The questions i have is what is the best way to setup the network between the 2 sites, i.e both sites have independent subnets, so will I need a router or will AD on the servers take care of the IP details and if I set the gateway to look at the main site should this be sufficient?
I am looking to purchase an all in one security appliance like a Sonicwall but want to know if i should buy 2 one for each site? Any assistance will be greatly appreciated
Answer : Problem: Networking Ethernet handoff config
The networks are small enough to accept a single broadcast domain, but the link speed could be an issue. Since it's slow enough, I'd drop in a pair of low-cost routers.
