Question : Problem: I get a "Not Initialized" error in bios setup

I purchased a memory stick for a customer's computer and when I installed it I get a "not initialized" error in bios.  I can swap the stick and then I get the same thing with the other slot.  I have reset the bios, but that didn't help.  Why can't I use both memory slot's?

Answer : Problem: I get a "Not Initialized" error in bios setup

SD RAM incompatability problems are not unusual. Several of the old sticks say CL3, this is the clock speed of the RAM. The Ultra RAM clock speed isn't identified on the label. It is generally recommended to use two identical chips in most cases for reliable operation. Do a Google search on the motherboard number (usually between the processor and the memory on Intel boards) look for Intel approved memory on the page for  the board. Since this is a board built for Gateway you may need to search on Gateways site for supported memory. Or verify that memory is compatable with your motherboard prior to purchasing from vendor.
