Question : Problem: Missing User Data under Shadow Copy Components
I am trying to backup Virtual Server 2005 R2 SP1 with BE 12.5
I read the related question and the solutions did not work for me.
I verified that I have the Backup Exec Remote Agent service running as suggested, and still cannot see the virtual server. When I expand Shadow Copy Components, I only see System State and it's subitems.
I see the Microsoft Virtual Server container, but I believe that one is for Server 2008 and using the extra VS agent.
I am definitely at VS 2005 R2 SP1 with the latest KB updates as well.
BE 12.5 is up to date also.
How can I verify that the Virtual Server VSS Writer service is installed? Can that be the issue?
Any other areas that I can look at?
Thanks
Answer : Problem: Missing User Data under Shadow Copy Components
I went back to BE 12.0 and it works as described in the related solution.
So, they must have changed this feature in 12.5 in favor of the additional Virtual Server agent.
