Question : Problem: Cannot format
My power supply was defective causing my HDD to intermittently and randomly shut down. Now when I make the drive a slave and try to get into XP I get a blue screen until I disconnect the drive. Is there a way to trick the system into booting up so that I can reformat this drive. I am reluctant to boot up the machine without having this drive connected so that the machine boots into windows then apply the connector to the machine when the computer is running for fear of creating more problems.
Answer : Problem: Cannot format
I would try the drive in another PC or get a usb to ide converter and mount the drive as a USB device to format it etc
