Question : Problem: New PC Based RAID 10 Nas setup
Im try to build a Nas for 10-20 Windows users to share Docs, Quickbooks Files, CAD drawings on a Win2k3 Domain. I was planning on using Freenas as the OS, but have read there are many issues with Linux/FreeBsd and NTFS partitions. Would I just be better off using a Winxp Pro Box?
Heres the hardwareI was planning on using for a RAID 10 setup -
Optiplex GX620 - 2GB Ram
Highpoint RocketRAID 1740 4 Channel SATA RAID
4x Western Digital RE2 Hard Drive WD5001ABYS
I welcome any comments, opinions, and or alternatives
Thanks

Only way to use NTFS Partitions on linux boxes would be to configure iSCSI on the server.
