Question : Problem: Need AGP Video Card for Widescreen Monitor (32-bit 4X)

I am in a bind.  Got a nice 19" widescreen flat panel for Christmas and my video card doesn't support it.

The specs on the board say it supports AGP up to 4x and up to 32-bit

I have gone over the internet and am totally confused'
I see tons of cards that support 4x/8x (I assume that means both)
but there is virtually NO information on backwards compatibility to 32-bit.

Every time I look up 32-bit it gives me 128-bit, etc.  Are these are backwards
compatible?

WINDOWS XP by the way
Any recommendations for video cards.  I don't want to spend a mint and I
don't want to order something that will not work.  Something with the new ports
would be nice too but not sure if they make then.

Answer : Problem: Need AGP Video Card for Widescreen Monitor (32-bit 4X)

Both AGP and PCI slots are 32-bits in width: http://www.pcguide.com/ref/mbsys/buses/types/agpBus-c.html  You should never be concerned whether a PCI or AGP card is 32-bits wide; it is part of the standard.  Some of the older AGP cards will not work in certain motherboards because of differing voltages http://www.ertyu.org/~steven_nikkel/agpcompatibility.html, but this is not the case with recent cards and motherboards.
