Question : Problem: Can you use an Adaptec SCSI Card 39160 Ultra 160 like a PERC/RAID controller card

Hi;  I am setting up a cluster using 2 x Dell 2850swith 2 x Dell 220n's.  The card in the 2850s to connect the storage devices is the Adaptec SCSI Card 39160 Ultra 160.  I haven't had any luck yet figuring out how to set up the raid on the 220n's.  I have set up RAID on 220n's before but the servers had PERC/RAID controller cards installed and I used the DELL Array manager software.  But that doesn't work with the 39160 so far.  MS Disk Management only lets me set up partions or extended partions.  Is there a way to use the 39160  and still set up my RAID 5 configuration so I can set up 4 logical dirves on the 220n's?  Thanks.

The 39160 doesn't support RAID - sorry.

You'll need an AMI controller such as a PERC 3/DC or 4/DC. A PERC 3/Di (and all the Dell-rebadged Adaptec RAID controllers) do not support clustering.
