Question : Problem: Core 2 Duo overheating
|
|
I built myself a new PC based on a Gigabyte P35-DS3R and E6750 2GB RAM, 2 X 500GB SATA 2.
which is very nice but from time to time it is overheating.
I installed Speedfan and at idle it reports Core 1/ Core 2 as 19C/20C which increases to about 43/44 at 100% load....but what happens is that occasionally Fan 1 which normally kicks in from idle as the temp rises doesn't and the Core temps rise to a scary 75 or 80C...
Fan 4 is always on.
I have to power off/on completely to get Fan 1 working again - a restart has no effect.

Sorry, I didnt read your last post correctly. its probably an issue with the Bios not detecting the temperature correctly and as a result the fan not kicking in. Perhaps a Bios firmware update would sort it out but in my opinion its not worth doing that just to fix a small problem with speed fan. I would leave it off auto and then just forget about it. :P
