Question : Problem: Laptop running very hot with new processor
|
|
I have an ASUS A7J laptop. It was shipped with an Intel Core Duo processor running at 1.66 GHz, model # T2300. I've upgraded the processor to a T2600 and now my CPU runs very hot. It will idle at around 60C and goes up to as high as 95 or 100C when under load.
Any ideas as to how I can make this laptop run in an acceptable temperature range. I'm wondering if I can put in a more powerful fan or something.
Thanks experts!!!

Did you install the CPU properly? First cleaned off all residue from the heatsink, then applied a very small amount of thermal transfer paste, and firmly reattached the Heatsink to the CPU? Did you also make sure the fan runs smoothly?
