Question : Problem: LanSafe v.6 unable to send emails

I installed LanSafe v.6 for our PowerWare 9125 UPS and it seems to be monitoring the UPS just fine. However, when I try to set up alerts to send emails, it is unable to communicate with the SMTP server (Exchange and LanSafe are on the same machine). This is a SBS 2003 Machine with Exchange 2003 SP2 installed. All communications other than this work fine.

"There was an error sending the e-mail. Please check communication with the Power Monitor and SMTP server and try again."

I moved the monitor to another server, since I read something about incompatibility with SBS. As it turns out, our virus scanner blocks traffic on port 25 except for specified processes. After excluding the process that is trying to send mail. It worked just fine from the other server.
