You didn't give the model # for your motherboard, so I simply looked up the Intel DG43NB, which should be similar (and I suspect has the same connections).
The DG43NB has a standard front panel audio header which supports both HD Audio and AC '97 connections, as do most boards these days. The detailed pinouts are shown on page 47 (Tables 19 & 20), but you shouldn't need these, as it's a standard connector. [

What model # is your motherboard? ... and what case are you using? Does th case have front panel audio connections with a dual-connect cable (one with both HD and AC'97 connectors)?
