Question : Problem: DVI to VGA to S-Video

Gd day,

Have a 8800 GT display card on my computer and trying to connect it to my Samsung Projection TV, which has S-Video input.

I bought a long VGA cable (15m) and this usual small DVI to VGA converter.

Now I'm considering to buy a VGA to Svideo converter, which is really expensive and frankly speaking dont want to waste so much money for a system which should not work.

In this regard, would be very pleased to hear your kind support/advice if above is workable, and I shall proceed with buying this converter.

Answer : Problem: DVI to VGA to S-Video

Converting DVI to VGA is easy with an adapter.  Converting VGA to s-video is easy if the video card supports s-video out through the VGA: http://www.amazon.com/EFORCITY-VGA-S-Video-RCA-Adaptor/dp/B000P3UB24.  If your video card doesn't support this (check the manual to be sure), it is not as straightforward and requires electronics such as these: http://www.ramelectronics.net/audio-video/video-converters/vga-rgb-hv-to-s-video/c10000-c11200-c11214.html?sorter=productname-en-asc
