Question : Problem: Can't sync windows mobile device!
|
|
Trying to sync a windows mobile device. When I install Active Sync, I get the error
"No Microsoft Exchange was detected at the specified address. Click retry to check the address again or continue to configure your smartphone to sync with this server anyway"
I have entered ip address http://ip address/exchange https://ip address/exchange
Any ideas why I'd get this message?

Is this the first device that you've tried to synchronize? If not, do you have other devices that are working right now? SBS is a somewhat different animal from a standard Windows server with Exchange, so take a look at this article to see if it corresponds with what's happening in your case:

Using the IP address should work, but I just was curious as to why you were doing that. It certainly would be easier for users to have a server name to use rather than an IP address.
