Question : Problem: Mobile device unable to sync with any PC.

I have two Windows Mobile 6 devices, one a PPC6800 and the other a Blackjack II, that are unable to sync with a computer through ActiveSync over a USB Cable. I first thought it was a problem with the program on the computer so I reinstalled ActiveSync 4.5 on both computers, but that did not fix it. Next I tried to run the diagnostic program that comes with AS, and the only thing that is out of the ordinary is an error at the bottom of the report it generates:
  "Pinging Device 169.254.2.2 started
   Pinging - IcmpCreateFile failed, err =  1314
Unable to establish a connection between the PC and the device."

We do not use a firewall on the computers, and just to make sure, I stopped with Window Firewall Service. I also tried just turning the devices off and back on again. OTA is syncing without any problems. When the devices are plugged into the computers, they are being installed as Windows Mobile Devices in Network Connections and they are 'Working Properly' according to the device manager.

I did a hard reset on the Blackjack II and that solved the issue for it. But the user using the PPC6800 does not want that to be done, and I do not either. Can anyone give me some input on what the IcmpCreateFile error means.

Also, does anyone know of any good sites that can give more description of the data that is given in this log and tips on how I can use it in Troubleshooting?

Thanks for your help!!

Answer : Problem: Mobile device unable to sync with any PC.

I found the solution to this problem. I went in and disabled 'Advanced Network Functionality' on the USB to PC connection on the device by going to Start -- Settings -- Connections -- USB to PC and unchecking the box. I still do not know what "IcmpCreateFile failed, err =  1314" means, but this got my uesr working. Thanks for trying.
