Question : Problem: NSS

Hi. I just upgraded the NSS [notebook system software] from the Dell support download page. I have an inspiron 6000.
My question is what exactly what is NSS and do I need it?

There are some tools and utilities for powermanagement etc. If I'm not mistaken there is also a tool so that dell can make a remote connection to the notebook if they need to diagnose a problem.
