Question : Problem: can't access personal drives or shared drive remotely

Everything works fine at the office but when I take my laptop on the road I usually connect thru the office vpn. I can connect to my MS exchange box and get all my emails but when I try to connect to my personal folder and\or the server drive I can't.
On my laptop I use dhcp I found out that if I enter one dns address then i have access to the drive but I lose the internet access.
Any idea ?

Answer : Problem: can't access personal drives or shared drive remotely

unfortunately no.

All you need to do is set the DNS servers in the TCPIP connections.

Set to use these DNS servers rather than DHCP ( get automatically )

1) Local DNS server on your LAN may also be your Domain controller

2) ISP DNS per the person connecting, depends on their ISP.

Can be fond by temporarily setting DNS to automatic, and then running

ipconfig /all, after a minute or so
