Question : Problem: AD Active Directory to Second Server
Hello,
I have one Windows 2003 server with AD. It also has Exchange 2007 on it, and this same server has a registered certificate. I need to ad AD to another server so that server number 1 is not the only one with AD. I went to server number two and ran DCPROMO and there was a prompt warning me to backup my certificates because local user accounts will be dleleted. Does this message have anything to do with my one and only server with AD? OR, is it just telling me that this second machine that I want to add AD to needs to be backed up? If I run DCPROMO on a new server will it alter the certificate or cause any problems on my existing server?
Please advise.
Thanks,
John
Answer : Problem: AD Active Directory to Second Server
So then it should not affected you as you can reapply the cert if things go wrong with the promotion.
I'd backup anyway though...
