I have a IRda device but my computer does to seem to pick up the device....any suggestions on how I could check this.

Hello kiwijaynz, you actually need an USB IRda device or something like that to make the computer transcode infra red signals that are received from the device, i had one such device that connects to the pc using usb and using the derivers provided, i installed it, and when my mobile phone which has inbuilt infra red connectivity is placed in front of it, the system tray will show that the phone is connected via infrared...
