   Well, we tried a bunch of things here, and I guess they didn't actually work.  (What happened with the GUS drivers anyway?) And the answer seems to be, when working with an obsolete sound card, get one that is much more popular.

   And remeber:  Creative labs just acquired Ensonic.
   AND:          Advanced Gravis has just decided to drop their soundcards all together.

   Oh well...
