Question : Problem: BrightStor 11.1 - Fail Host Adapter Initialization

We have a new Dell PowerVault RD1000 USB connected to a NW6.5 SP6 server. NSSMU init the device, partitioned and created a Pool. Upon loading BrightStor 11.1 on server, we get the error message - EA000: Fail Host Adapter Initialization. We cannot login to Adapter and SAN Configuration wizard. What am I missing? Thoughts?

Answer : Problem: BrightStor 11.1 - Fail Host Adapter Initialization

the RD1000 is an external hard drive and not a backup device. It is not possible to backup to it just like you would a tape drive. However if you mount it as a volume  a FSD can be setup on it and backup to that FSD.

ARCserve can only see it as it would any other volume and not as a backup device like a tape drive.
