Question : Problem: Adding a second Farm/license server to existing environment.
|

Currently have an application utilizing citrix metaframe presentation server 3.0, one farm....first server in farm is also the license server(60 client licenses). Management is requesting a 2nd license server, for fault tolerance should the existing server crash. The servers are used for a single application, but are published as 5 different connections, one for production, one for test, one for dev, etc. The idea is to keep Prod published on 4 servers while the other environments use the fifth. What is the best approach? Create a 2nd farm on one of the other servers? Will I need to reinstall citrix on that machine? We are already prepared to have our licenses reallocated by citrix.
Thanks

Just so you know, and forgive me if you already know this, but if your license server fails, you have 3 days grace period before people stop being able to connect. That is my redundancy plan.
If I have to rebuild the server, I just make sure I name it the same exact thing, then installing the licenses is a breeze.
