Question : Problem: Windows 2003 installation problem
|
|
I was trying to install windows 2003 on my new computer. I boot it up, press F6 to install 3rd party controller, go through the setup, and after it formats, check my drives and puts together files for windows to install. I get a message saying: Insert the disk labelled: VIA RAID Combo Driver Diskette into drive A:
Press ENTER when ready.
the only problem is there isn't a VIA RAID Combo Driver Diskette.
I am running VT8237 as my onboard raid controller. I also have 2 80GB WD's.

I tried looking into workarounds for getting controller drivers to load off of a usb device, but I didn't really see much that looked usefull. About the only thing you may want to consider is creating a slipstreamed installation CD that contains your serial ATA and RAID drivers. There are a number of sites that have good information regarding this process. Usefull if you don't want to have a floppy drive or you lose disks. :)
