Question : Problem: DDR memory speed

why does my new PC 5300 667 Mhz memory test at 333 Mhz in my Qosmio G35 laptop   I replaced both with 1024 modules.  I have tested it with several tests.

Answer : Problem: DDR memory speed

333 MHz is the correct base clock speed for PC2-5300 RAM, so everything's normal.

Remember that this is double data rate (DDR) memory ... so the base clock is 1/2 of the actual clock rate of the memory.   So your DDR2-667 (PC2-5300) memory is running with a 333MHz clock, but transferring data at twice that rate (667MHz).    If you run a system reporting program (like Everest Home Edition) you'll see a "real clock" of 333MHz, with an "effective clock" of 667MHz.
