Question : Problem: How to test T1 connection?
Hi, I have an Adtran t100 (its really old) and a Cisco 2600 with a wicT1 module. I made a T1 crossover cable and connected them. How can I verify if the link is active???
Adtran t100 ----------------t1 crossover cable--------------2600 w/T1 card
thanks
ps:
The LED light marked "RD" on the Adtran gets a solid green when I plug the T1 crossover in. When I unplug it, it goes off and the red led "ERROR" goes on.
The "RD" light has been going on and off when I jiggle the cable. Maybe the network jack on the Adtran is bad?
What is "RD" by the way?

"The "RD" light has been going on and off when I jiggle the cable"
More likely you are just seeing the effect of electrical noise coming from moving around the connection making the unit think it is seeing DTE data.
"On my Adtran T100, what should I set the following to?
-Clock source: [Network or Local ?]"
Since you are using a T1 crossover cable one of the CSU/DSU needs to be set to internal timing provide clocking. That is also sometimes needed on point to point T1 circuits as the telephone company does not always provide clocking on point to point circuits
Other than that all you need to do is make sure both CSU/DSUs have the same number of timeslots assigned in the same positions, and the same data rate, IE 56 or 64K. From there on it should be pretty straightforward.
