We are moving our data center in a few days and I am planning for the worst. I am making disaster recovery backups of all servers (the C, D, and E drives along with System State and Shadow copy components) with Backup Exec 11d. Then the night before the move I will back up all data including the File servers Data drive, SQL DBs and Exchange Information Store.
If I need to do a disaster recovery restore to a new server I need to know how to prepare the new target server. Do the drives need to be exactly the same size and drive letter? Do I rename and assigne the IP address of the old server to the new one before or after the restore?
Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
