Question : Problem: Cannot bind Macintosh computer to Active Directory

We have some Macs we'd like to add to our Windows Active Directory.  The domain is in the form of example.company.com.  Using the Directory Access application on the Macintosh computer, we are unable to bind it to the domain.  We simply get the "Invalid Domain" message.  We can ping the domain controller and be pinged by the DC so we know the connection is good.  I made a computer object, then named the Mac the same thing.  The Active Directory is in use already for the Windows users and as far as we can tell, there are no problems for them.  One thing I did notice when doing an nslookup from the Mac is that I am returned the message "parse of /etc/resolv.conf failed".  Would this have anything to do with it and if so, what can be done to fix it?
