Question : Problem: linksys wpc45g connection
|
|
I am trying to connect my Dell Lattitude C400 (W2000) to home network using a Linksys wpc45g wireless card and WAP45G access point. I cannot get the laptop card to work! Although W2000 recognises the presence of the card, the systray linksys monitor tells me that the card is inactive ("wpc45g is inactive") message.

You mean Linksys WPC54G, yeah ?!?
Frist you must check Rev. you have of the WPC54G; V1, V2, V3 or V4 than you look for the right Driver at ftp://ftp.linksys.com/pub/network
and than you must at Network Config the Gateway and Nameserver(at most AP the same), an IP-Add and the Standart 255.255.255.0 on the Notebook,
Then you must check the Router because you need turn on the WLAN Modus and you need the SSID, the same SSID must be in the Router and on the Notebook in the Linksys-Connection-Panel.
P.S. Offen help a Restart of all Componets (Desktop, Router, Notebook(Try switch PCMCIA-Bays, not ever all are 32-bit))
