Question : Problem: Backup Exec v12 Quickstart pre/post commands
I had to replace a tape drive and I installed the Backup Exec software that came with it which is version 12 Quickstart. I upgraded from BE 10D quickstart. 10d had the ability to run commands at the beginning and end of a backup (BAT files) and I cannot seem to find that option in version 12 Quickstart. Does anyone know if they removed that feature? It would be really pitiful if they did.
If it has been removed from the newer version, how would I go about downgrading because I really need a batch file to run at the beginning and end of my backup to take a document management database offline for the backup.
Answer : Problem: Backup Exec v12 Quickstart pre/post commands
I finally got my answer from another tech. I didn't have the full options turned on in Tools>Options>Preferences. There is a radio button that sets the options available to turn all available features on. It's in a box labled User Interface mode.
