Question : Problem: How to Test PCMCIA slot
I have a PCMCIA card modem and also a 802.11g wireless adapter for this slot. However, I am thinking both of the modem/adapter are bad. Is there any way to test to make sure the laptop itself in that slot is functioning properly. I really don't want to have to buy another adapter just to "test" it. I don't plan on keeping the laptop. The modem is recognized in the COM2 port when it is plugged into that slot in control panel. Is that a good enough indication that it is working?

pcmcia sockets rarely give problems, if you have no Yellow Exclaimations in the Device Manager (related to the PCMCIA services), they you are good to to. and, since the system recognizes the modem and assigns a comport.. I would say it is working as it should
