Question : Problem: Cannot start pc

When I switch on my pc through the CPU power button, nothing is displayed, no sounds from the CPU.

Before this problem started, the last time I had my pc started properly, the CPU was making a continuous sound from the CPU(like the beep from the motherboard when the pc is started). Keyboard and mouse did not  work and the pc had to be rebooted and now it stopped starting.

Power supply to the monitor and CPU is ok as the CDROM is working.The monitor power indicator light is on and flashing.

It could have been an alert in the motherboard.  The fact that your system doesn't boot anymore probably means something has failed.  You will have to open it up, and the things to check are:

- motherboard shorting on case
- bad connections
- faulty or inadequate power supply
- bad RAM
- faulty video card
- bad cpu
- bad motherboard

Strip the pc down to the bare essentials: keep one stick of RAM, the cpu, and the video card, and reset the BIOS.  Do not include hard disks, other PCI cards, or other peripherals.
