Question : Problem: How Do I Set Up A Tower Of Hanoi Scheme In Yosemite Tapeware 7?

I have a new Dell 124T autloader with 8 slots.  We were using Yosemite Tapeware 7.0 with the latest updates.  With our previous single tape drive and I had a GFS scheme with software prompts since we swapped the tapes by hand.  Now, with 8 slots and a GFS scheme, I can only get a month of backup using the autloader (without having to touch it regularly).

I want the longest hands-off backup window possible and would like to setup an 8 tape Tower of Hanoi backup scheme which would give me about 4 months of backup.  I can't figure out how to accomplish this in the Tapeware product and Tapeware support only wants to give me help on an 8 tape GFS schedule.

Can anyone shed some light on how I can do this?  Can it be done by using only NTBackup?  If so, how do I swap/mount/dismount the tapes using RSS (probable nightmare) or do I have to shell out another grand to get a product that will do this?

Thanks!

Eric

I can't help on setting up the backup but have you considered the need to take tapes off-site for disaster recovery reasons?

If you do have 4 months of unattended backups what happens if there is an on site fire?
