Question : Problem: Importing iPod Touch to iTunes on new HDD with no access to old HDD

is there a way to import all music from an iPod touch to iTunes on a brand new HDD with no access to the original iTunes folder?

to cut a long story short my hard drive failed in my laptop. i have sent it to a data recovery company who returned it saying basically sorry we can't get anything off it.
I'm back up and running with Windows Vista Ultimate all patched up to date on a brand new hard drive and i've downloaded the latest copy of iTunes, but whenever i try to sync it will not let me copy the iPod to the library, it only wants to sync the other way, wiping the iPod.
so far i have tried copytrans and 7 other 'iPod backup' programs but they all need the 'enable disk use' button checked which i don't even see - its not greyed out, its just not there. i have read it appears when u check the 'manually manage music' which i never did, i always let iTunes do it automatically. i ticked it but the option still never appeared.
i cannot see the iPod in My Computer either, even with 'hide system protected folders' in folder options unchecked (as well as show hidden n system folders), nor can i see it in disk management. iTunes can see it tho.
i've tried everything i can think of but i really don't want to wipe the iPod as there is a lot i've bought on iTunes i'll lose if i do. any ideas would be greatly appreciated

Try TouchCopy

I'm aware of certainproblems with Vista, but Touch Copy works really well under XP
