Question : Problem: Slow scroll rate/flicker rate

I have just reinstalled XP but I have a slow scroll rate, drag and drops also seem flickery.

I am using a laptop, normally I use the quick restore disk when I reinstall but I wanted to install XP with SP2 at the same time and avoid various bits of free software the supplier placed on the disks.

I am guessing the issue is down to video drivers being incorrect.

I don't want to use the quick restore disk though to install.

How do I fix it?

Answer : Problem: Slow scroll rate/flicker rate

Are you using Cleartype?

Right click on the Desktop.
Select Properties.
Click Appearance tab.
Click Effects button.
In the dropdown menu select Cleartype.
