Question : Problem: Can't Download DBAN - Can't format Western Digital HD.   Other Software???

I was directed to MaxBlast software to format my Maxtor HD.   Is there an analagous item for Western Digital?  I can't get Dban to download.

If you are having trouble wiping a disk, then DBAN can also be downloaded as a floppy image (not just a CD image).  If you want to format the disk for re-use and not just to wipe it out before destruction (for security purposes) then you can simply use a windows boot disk and the fdisk dos tool to format a drive.  Try grabbing the Windows 98 SE bootdisk from here:

Also, you could try using a bootable CD such as GPartED from here:
http://gparted.sourceforge.net/livecd.php
