Question : Problem: USB Flash Drive transfer lilmit

I bought a 16GB USB flash drive thinking that I could drag and drop a 5GB video file to it but I get an error saying that the "destination drive is full" though it's not really full and has plenty of room for the 5GB file.  I've created a 4GB data file and am able to drag and drop that to the flash drive, so the limit seems to be somewhere between 4 and 5GB.  I returned the first 16GB flash drive thinking it was broken but found  that the new one I bought, from a different manufacturer, did t he same thing.  I'm running Windows XP and have tried this on  two different machines.  Does anyone know what might be going on here?

Thanks,
steva

Answer : Problem: USB Flash Drive transfer lilmit

The FAT file system used by most USB devices has a 4GB file limit. If you wanted larger, you'd need to fine one that had NTFS file system, or perhaps reform the one you have to NTFS (which is what your computer is using internally for its File system).
