Question : Problem: Copying files from DOS to another location
I have a file on a diskette and it won't let me copy it to my desktop or another location. I thought if I open up the MS-DOS Prompt window and bring up the A:\directory, I could copy the file into a file on my C:\ drive. However, it's been so long since I've used DOS I can't remember how to copy from DOS to another location. Can anyone help me?

TC, Can you read from the floppy while in Windows? Can you read or copy from other floppies on your pc? If not, you may have a bad floppy, cable or controller. Can this disk be read from or the files copied on a different pc? You have nothing to lose by attempting to copy the files from within DOS but this does rarely work. David
