Question : Problem: Erase Hard drive manufacturer's information

Is there a way to erase all the manufacturer's information like brand, model and serial number from the hard drive. Is there a software that can rewrite the ROM of the hard drive or something similiar?

I'm not suggesting that RickyFung is looking to do this, but one reason is to get around software protection where the software is locked to the HDD serial number.
