Question : Problem: Weird Routing over VPN
We have a new user who is setup with the Cisco VPN client on a desktop provided by us at home. They connect to a Linksys wireless router using a Linksys PCI wireless card.
I have no issues with other users. I can connect to VPN fine and everything looks ok but when i try to ping one of our servers by name it tries to ping some internet address. What is odd is if i ping a file server by name it goes out towards the internet but if i try to access a share on that server by going to run and doing a \\server\share it works fine. Any ideas what the heck is going on here? I have tried clearing DNS cache and all that stuff and the vpn client is getting the right DNS servers from us.
Answer : Problem: Weird Routing over VPN
As a solution to the problem we set an internal DNS as primary and an external as secondary...routing issues are ok now...still not sure why it was happening but at least this works
