I had previously asked a question concerning the same application.

Since I am starting a Jetty web server on a CD or DVD and accessing around 4GB of data, the PC usually takes a long time to start the server and open the application. Is there some method of memory management in Java that can help me speed up the process. Also, using Java, is there some way that I can monitor the CPU resources and allocation and free up memory in case my application causes the PC to slow down?
Thanks
