Question : Problem: Trouble connecting airport express, linksys router, and XP
|
|
While I'm comfortable, almost "expert" in other areas of computing, I'm a real novice when it comes to networks and setting them up. I'm running a dual core PC under XP. I've managed to set up a Linksys WRT 54G v8 router to work with my cable modem. I have 2 airport express "plugs" that I'd like to use to throw music from the PC into other rooms using powered speakers. The Airport Express Assistant software can't find the Linksys as the base station. That means I can't get to the next level of setting up the Airport Express "plugs" in the other room. I can connect them in turn to the base station via ethernet cable and get a green light, and they show up as lit on the Linksys as in the port. But I don't know how to make everything talk to each other and work wirelessly in another room. Please help.
