Question : Problem: Old Compaq computer NVidia Vanta on board vid card will not change resolution

A client of mine has an old Compaq P4 1.7GHz compuyter with 512 RAM.  The Nvidia Vanta LT on board video adapter will not let me change resolution to anything but 640 x 480 and 16 bit color.  The desktop can not be changed either.  I loaded the newest drivers, using windows online update and it still does nothing different.  I can't change the desktop either.

you need to get the drivers from Nvidia's website not windows online update.

this utility will do an inventory of your installed drivers and it will let you know if they need to be updated or not. All you need to do after that is search for the drivers that need updating. Install them and you should be set.
