Question : Problem: PC locks up at shutdown - hangs closing network connections
I have a PC running Windows 2000 Professional SP3 as a client in a corporate domain. Problem is that the PC freezes at shutdown when "Closing network connections". PC has been left overnight in this state, and does not power off. The unit has to be powered off manually every day. What could be causing this, and how can it be corrected?

There could be a wrong or bad chipset driver or other driver installed.
Get the latest Servicepack and then install all the windowsupdates. Also check the manufacturer's homepage for driver updates and install them. That can help.
