Question : Problem: Recompile kernel to regconize 4GB ram or more?

Hi,
I am running a server with installed Centos 4.5. It regconize only 3GB ram out of 4GB ram. I know i need to recompile kernel for the server to regconize 4GB ram but i am not sure which package of kernel i should install and how to do it.
Please help me on this issue.
[root@vietnam1 //]# uname -a
Linux hostname.domain.com 2.6.9-55.ELsmp #1 SMP Wed May 2 14:28:44 EDT 2007 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux
