Question : Problem: Enable Direct Push over HTTP(s) option is missing
|
|
There appears to be a lot of confusion out there regarding this issue and how to solve it. The problem Im referring to is with Windows 2003 Exchange Server (SBS, Enterprise, Standard, etc) and the missing Direct Push features from the Mobile Services Properties window. Everything Ive read says to reinstall SP2 if the direct push options dont exist, however, what they dont say is WHICH service pack to reinstall.
There are two separate service packs for Windows 2003 Exchange Servers. One is a general service pack with hot fixes and other updates, and the second is a very specific service pack for Exchange. Its the second service pack for Exchange which contains the direct push functionalities that needs to be reinstalled (or installed if you havent already done so).
If you are missing the Enable Direct Push over HTTP(s) feature from the Mobile Services Properties window, then reinstall SP2 for Exchange. If you havent already installed it you can download it from the link bellow:
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/exchange/bb288486.aspx
Hopefully that clears it up for everyone.
Cheers!

You need Microsoft Exchange Service Pack 2, as this adds the direct push features to Exchange. Windows Server 2003 SP2 is not required.
