Question : Problem: Accessing Data on NTFS Local Disk
|
|
Hello fellow experts,
I have a problem after I replaced a drive due to bad sectors/failing to load WinXP. After installing the new EIDE drive and installing Windows, I put the other drive in to copy the user's files from the old drive to the new drive. All of thier data resided in C:\Documents and Folders\Username, but when trying to access this with windows explorer I'm getting access denied. So, how do I authenticate in order to access this portion of the disk? I'm using the same username and password as before, but that doesn't seem to matter.
Thanks,
Bryan

bad sectors would make things difficult...
another option would be to try data recovery software available on net but i am not sure if they will let you go above ntfs security.
