Question : Problem: IrCC VS IrDA

I'm tying to connect my Nikia 6220 to my laptop via infrared connection.  Have downloaded all the necessary software from Nokia, but the connection does not seem to establish itself.  

When I look into my device manager, I notice that the infrared connection is an SMC IrCC connection.  On the Nokia site, they only seem to talk about the IrDA type of connection.  Is the difference between the IrCC and the IrDA Harware specific?  Or can I convert my IrCC port ot an IrDA one using a new dirver?

I would think that's a reasonable assumption.

You ARE "pointing" the infrared emitters/sensors at each other, right :)  :)  :)

... and what operating system are you running?  (I've been assuming it's XP)
