Question : Problem: Windows Mobile Direct Push Email solution - if I delete the email on my smartphone will it be deleted from the exchange folde
|

We are about to dump our blackberry phones and convert to HTC smartphones using windows mobile 6. It is essential (or at least very desirable!) that when we delete an email on the smartphone it will delete the email on the exchange mailbox. It is also desirable that when we send an email from the smartphone the email will be stored in the sent folder on exchange.
Despite hours of web searching (and some hopeless hours on the phone to o2) I can not get anyone to give me a clear yes/no as to whether this is possible.
Assuming this is possible, can someone tell me how difficult this is likely to be. Thanks

For both WM5 and WM6, yes, a message deleted on the Exchange server will remove the message from the handheld. Message state, such as read and unread status will do the same. On the flipside, deleting the message on the handheld will remove it from the Exchange server. Reading the message (or marking it unread) on the handheld will populate the same status on the Exchange server.
I am not sure if you can change the status of this functionality with the mobile messaging Web Admin tool: http://www.microsoft.com/technet/solutionaccelerators/mobile/deploy/msfpdepguide.mspx http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=e6851d23-d145-4dbf-a2cc-e0b4c6301453&DisplayLang=en
